Sad News

Monica Judge Passed Away

January 8, 2025

 

Hi all,

John here,

Monica went into the hospital a week ago with what we hoped was just pneumonia. More complications were found, and the only option was surgery but in her condition the outcome would have placed Monica on a ventilator for the rest of her life. Prior to her lung transplant almost 7 years ago, she composed an advanced directive stating, "you can put me on a respirator if you are sure you will be able to take me off again. I do not want to live permanently on it." Due to her wishes we placed her in palliative care to make sure her last moments would be as comfortable and pain free as possible.

This morning just after 8 AM the Good Lord called her home to be with her granddaughter Audrey, son TJ, sister Karen, brother Terry, mother Gertrude, and her father Leo. She was the light of our lives and the strongest person in the world. Her deep faith will get Chris, Jay and I through the sorrow. We have not finalized arrangements yet but will send them as soon as we have them.

We all have been fortunate to have Monica with us the last 7 years to enjoy all the special events that occurred. Today she got to personally thank her donor for the time we were given. Please keep them both in your prayers.
